We are so happy to share this beautiful baby image taken by Katie Farro of Classic Kids Photography Studio in Greenwich, CT. Classic Kids is a beautiful studio on Greenwich Ave. and they are incorporating some of our Daisy and Honeybee accessories into their portrait sessions. The baby above is wrapped in one of our mohair wrap and cap sets and is lying on our extra large white faux fur blanket. Beautiful and soft, we love this truly classic image! This past weekend we participated and the New York Baby Show at Pier 92 on Manhattan's West Side. The show was a great success and we got to show off some of our favorite products. We raffled off a "Personalized Portrait Crate" and are pleased to announce that Madeline from Ozone Park is our winner!!
Again... thanks to all of our new customers and well wishers who stopped by... and thanks to New York Family Magazine for sponsoring!
Madeline tells us that she will find out what she is having by June 18th and will let us know which set she chooses! We are very happy for her and wish her all the best.
We also had some of the most adorable visitors stop by. Here is beautiful little Eva... her Mom bought her one of our sunset roses to show off her beautiful face!
One of the best things to do with our little wraps is to take them to the beach! Soft and gauzy and 100% cotton, their bright colors just make picture taking so much fun. Pair them up with a bold and colorful headband and you are set for a day of picture taking! Just don't forget your umbrella... Babies can be swaddled in our wraps... toddlers can be draped in them. When tied they make great little skirts and dresses... and experimenting is half the fun!
At Daisy and Honeybee we love color! However... sometimes it is nice to simplify the color scheme and white is such a delicious option. This portrait session was done using our white faux fur basket liner (I used two to get a wider surface to work with) with a white cotton swaddle and our white petal shimmer headband and I love the result! The fur, swaddle and headband combination create such a lovely set of textures that really show off baby's precious face and soft skin. We also added in a touch of soft peach by wrapping our very awake baby with a coral stretch wrap and adding a velvet mini headband in peach. The result is just adorable!
At Daisy and Honeybee we create delicate and handmade portrait accessories to help dress up baby's first photographs. With our new baby greeting cards, giving "that little special something" is now that much easier. All of our baby greeting cards come with a detachable gift to help baby and family celebrate the joy of a new beginning, a special event, or an ordinary day! Our headbands and bow ties add beauty and fun to just about any occasion.
These beautiful and delicate hand knit sets include a 12" X 24" sheer wrap and light as air baby cap. Sold in 5 colors. Ivory, gray and pink can be ordered with an optional flower embellishment.
This is an adorable posing combination from newborn portrait photographer Jessica Caro: www.jessicacarophotography.com. The baby was posed on our camel colored faux fur basket liner with a dark brown stretch wrap and our lemon nutmeg garden party headband. The finished image is just a beautiful fall baby portrait. Thanks to Jessica for sharing her beautiful baby portrait with us!
This is another beautiful baby portrait from About You Portraits Studio www.aboutyouportraits.com and features our wisteria cotton swaddle and our handmade petal shimmer headband in the purple/gray color. Thanks again for sharing!
Have a new baby coming home for the holidays? Be prepared with this delightful and festive baby girl posing wreath.
We also offer a mix of fun seasonal items that make great gifts for new or expecting parents this winter. Like our Little Elf posing crate below.
Over the weekend we had the good fortune and joy to set up a booth at our local city's Arts Festival in Stamford, CT. We had such a great time meeting and working with our customers and introducing them all to our products. The feedback was just wonderful and we were very busy! As a web based company it is important to us to test our products, which we do extensively, but we also appreciate and incorporate feedback from our customers. This year the feedback was just terrific and we had a lot of very satisfied customers both big and small. Here is a small sampling... I tried to photograph as many of our little ones as I could as there was soooo much cuteness going on!
Our new hats are here, ready for the warm weather! Our baby bear hats are perfect for multiples, with pale pink for the girls and pale blue for the boys. They're crocheted from milk cotton and are the perfect size for newborns straight from the hospital.
We also have our amazing new shabby chic hats - not only are they beautiful, but they're open weave and guaranteed to be perfectly comfortable in the warm weather. Each hat is paired with a flower on an elastic band, and they come in pink, lilac, and coral
This is one of my favorite ways to photograph a Mother and a new baby. By placing a swaddled baby high up on Mom’s shoulder and having Mom rest her cheek against baby’s head, you can create a very intimate moment and capture a beautiful image. It is also a great time to have Mom play with her baby’s hands and fingers and of course it is fun to capture those beautiful close up shots.
For this shot I suggest you turn off the flash. Find some natural light that may be spilling in from a window or doorway and let the light wrap around your subject and spill onto baby’s face. It is especially nice if Mom is turning slightly away from the light and baby is facing the light so if you need to have Mom rotate her shoulder toward or away from the light source. If possible set your aperture wide open at f3.2 or f3.5 and focus on baby’s eyes. This will shorten your depth of field and create a beautiful soft focus on Mom while keeping baby’s face in sharp focus.
What better way to start off the (relatively) new year with new wraps? They're sheer, delicate, comfortable, and perfect for layering and adding beautiful vibrancy to your baby's portraits. They come in ten amazing colors, not to mention they're amazingly soft!
Also, get ready for our new spring hats and headbands, coming soon!
Baby portrait gifts and preparation at Daisy and Honeybee
Hi everyone! And thanks for stopping by… literally and figuratively. Carol and I (otherwise known as Daisy and Honeybee) launched our new business at the Stamford “Arts and Crafts on Bedford Street” event this past weekend Sept. 20-21st… and it was a great success! Thanks to everyone who came by to say hello or stopped in to purchase one of our unique and whimsical baby gifts.
We would also like to thank the members of the Stamford Moms club and their adorable children… who volunteered to work with us in creating and “displaying” our beautiful product line. It was the highlight of our weekend to see those of you who were able to stop by… and we are truly grateful for all of your support.
It has been a long and rewarding process to take our concept of “creative baby portrait set” from concept to creation and we are happy to finally share our delightful and unique products with our clients. We appreciate all of your thoughts and your enthusiasm... and will continue to look for adorable products to add to our collection.
We would also like to thank our families and friends… for their thoughts, encouragement and support. Also, all of our “guys” for putting up with frozen pizza, cotton fuzz and a little less clean laundry. Thanks for the hauling and lifting, editing and advice… we love you all.
